Kim Thompson - Reception

Kim joined the practice in 1992, initially as a trainee veterinary nurse but soon moving across to reception. She is married to Simon and has two daughters, Beccy and Abigail, who have worked with us as evening kennel assistants.

Kim helps with any queries about our Pet Health Club

Kim owns Austin, a beagle cross who likes to decide where his walks should go!. She also runs a dog sitting business, to offer an alternative to kennels for when you go away.

Helena Routledge - Reception

Helena first joined the practice in 1987 initially as a trainee veterinary nurse but soon moving across to become a receptionist. Helena left the practice in 1995, when she became a mum, and rejoined us on a part-time basis in August 2003.

Helena  has two sons, Joe and Sam.

Helena has a large selection of rescued pets, many of whom arrived as waifs and strays at the practice.

The current list includes dogs Bob, Meg and Darwin, two ferrets, a corn snake, and her horse Taggart, rescued via the charity 'Auf Weidersehen Pet'.

Tina - Reception

Tina has worked for New Malden Vets as an evening and weekend receptionist for many years, and keeps us all in our place!

Over the years Tina has owned and loved cocker spaniels and Jack Russell terriers.

Tina just works one evening a week now, but we all enjoy her experience.

Jean - Reception

Jean has been a client of ours for many years, with a succession of lovely cats. In the autumn of 2012 Jean came to us as an afternoon receptionist, job sharing with Alison.

Jean is married to New Zealander Brendan, and is owned by two Burmese cats, Daisy and Maahuu, and two enormous but gentle Maine Coon cats, Ariki and Kapua. Jean is a keen gardener and quilter.

Alison - Reception

Alison also started as a receptionist in the autumn of 2012; she job shares with Jean, and covers the morning slot. Alison fosters labradors for Labrador rescue. and has recently invited rescue dog 'Harlee' into her life. Alison is also often to be found at the stables helping fellow receptionist Helena with her horses.

Jane joined the New Malden Vets team after working in a school for several years. She is always cheerful and has the most infectious laugh in the building!

Her naughty but lovely dog is Teddy, a springer-poo. Jane also is a foster Mum for Kim's dog Austin when Kim is on holiday. and she is always reluctant to give him back!

Tracey joined us inthe summer of 2016, having worked as a dental receptionist previousley.

Tracey has had a lot of experience with dogs of all types, from Great Danes down, and also helps her daughter with eventing horses.

Karen joined our reception team in 2016. However she started her veterinary career as a nurse at New Malden at the same time as our head nurse Kathryn! After working in various fields, Karen dcided she would like to work with the public again, and now works for us 3 - 4 days a week,

Karen has two westies, one is a slightly timid rescued dog.

Sandra Chalke

Sandra has been with the practice since 1989. She is responsible for the cleanliness of the premises. Sandra owns two cats, George and Dave. George is a cream British Shorthair and Dave is a black and white ex-stray that Sandra rehomed from the practice. Sandra also loves birds, particularly budgerigars and pigeons.
