Nurses

Kathryn Baker

Kathryn joined the practice straight from school in 1978 and has been here ever since! She passed her Veterinary Nurse examinations in 1981 and has a wealth of experience both in a professional capacity and a personal one as the owner of many pets over the years. She has trained and competed to a high level in Dog Agility and currently enjoys training her Border Collies to work sheep (she has her own small flock). She is also passionate about cats and has rescued and hand-reared many over the years.

Kathryn is available for general nurse appointments, and also puppy appointments to advise on training and health care.

Outside work Kathryn also enjoys gardening and photography.

Andrea Banham

Andrea joined the practice in 1994. She qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 1996, and became interested in training Veterinary Nurses shortly afterwards. She has been a qualified Veterinary Nurse Training Assessor since 2000, and this role now occupies most of her time. She is extremely committed to this role and is very successful, having trained Helen and Jenni as well as five other students who have now qualified and are working elsewhere.

Andrea has three children, Emma May, Andrew and Tamsin, and now works part-time. She also owns a rescued cat, Charlie, two Guinea pigs, Bully and Brown, and some rescued gerbils.
In her free time, Andrea enjoys motorbikes.

Helen Fane-Gladwin

Helen has been at the practice since 1996. She trained as a veterinary nurse with the practice and qualified in 1999. Helen is interested in surgical nursing and anaesthesia.

Helen particularly loves cats, and has rehomed two kittens, Neo and Dolly, who were left on our doorstep.

Helen’s interests outside work include swimming, music and foreign travel.

Jenni Court

Jenni joined the practice as a trainee Veterinary Nurse in 2002, having already worked at another practice since 1999. She passed her final exams and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2005.

Jenni loves cats and owns two, Kitty and Jaffa. She also owns three rats.
She has a particular interest in nursing care of rabbits which are becoming increasingly popular as pets.

Outside work Jenni loves wildlife, travelling and photography.

Sarah Jenner

Sarah joined the practice in 1982 as a Saturday girl while she was still at school. She then became a full-time employee in 1984, and passed her Veterinary Nursing exams in 1991. Sarah then left the practice in 1997 to go travelling. She returned to the U.K. and worked for another veterinary practice as a Head Nurse before returning to Hope and Davies (now New Malden Vets) in 2003.
Sarah has a great deal of experience of training dogs and has competed in dog agility competitions with her own. She is available for puppy consultations to advise on health care and training.
Sarah now has two dogs, a Border Collie called Chess and a rescued Saluki, Shah. She also owns a horse, Geri.

Hannah Smith

Hannah joined the practice in 2005, having passed her Veterinary Nursing examinations in January.
Hannah does agility with her Border Collie, Ozzie and she also owns a Bengal cat, Frankie and an Abyssinian, Flo.

Outside work, Hannah enjoys diving, horse riding and going to the gym.

Helen Billington

Helen joined the practice in June 2005 as a kennel assistant whilst studying the animal nursing assistant course at Merrist Wood College in Guildford. She was promoted to the position of trainee veterinary nurse in July 2006.

Helen owns 2 rescued lurchers called Dave and Molly. Dave is a blood donor for the practice. She enjoys reading and playing the piano.
