Originally established in 1972
The practice was started by Peter Hope in 1972. He was joined by John Davies and the practice became known as Hope and Davies. Peter and John completely extended the practice in 1989. The premises were upgraded to give three consulting rooms, two wards and an isolation area for infectious cases, a dedicated operating theatre, preparation areas, offices and a nurses flat.
Margo Scott joined the practice in 1984 and Jackie Cox in 1995. Margo and Jackie took over the practice when Peter and John retired in 2003. The practice was renamed New Malden Vets in 2008. Victoria Weston and Elizabeth Starritt joined the practice in 2003 and 2009 respectively. They took over as Clinical Directors in June 2016, when Margo retired and Jackie moved to Derbyshire to be closer to her family. Victoria and Elizabeth are continuing the practices ethos of providing a comprehensive caring service for the pet-owning community of New Malden and the surrounding area.
In 2015, New Malden Vets joined the Independent Vetcare Group. Independent Vetcare is a group of leading veterinary practices across the UK who have come together to pool resources, skills and knowledge. We’re run by and for vets, so clinical excellence drives our business. Pet and client needs will always come first because every practice in our group is run by its local veterinary team.
